There is water leaking out of the overflow pipe from the water
heater. Is that dangerous and should I be concerned?
Answer: Yes, it can be dangerous.
That water is coming from a pressure and temperature safety relief valve that is located on your water heater
and is usually an indication that the water pressure to your home is too high and needs to be addressed.
If let go for too long, the safety relief valve can fail and that basically creates a bomb in your house.
My water heater is making a rumbling sound.
Is that dangerous and should I be concerned?
Answer: No, it is not dangerous.
What makes the noise is a build up of minerals in the bottom of the water heater and when the water heater heats, the mineral deposits bounce around inside of the water heater and make the rumbling noise you are hearing.
The build up of sediment can reduce the efficiency of the water heater, but it is not dangerous.
How do I know what size water heater I have?
Answer: On the front of your water heater, usually directly above the controls either at the top
or the bottom of the water heater, you will find a rating plate that lists the model and serial number of the water heater.
This rating plate will also typically list the gallon capacity of your water heater.
If your water heater has a blanket wrapped around it, you may have to cut back the blanket to find the rating plate.
Does it cost more to have you come out on the weekends?
Answer: No. We charge the same price seven days a week.
